AI for engineering

Engineering deliverables, without the rework.

Cadmium connects P&IDs, 3D models, isometrics and MTOs, so your engineers review finished work instead of redrawing it.

Walkthrough

A line, from first P&ID to the workface.

01 · Read

Turn a stack of P&IDs into data by lunchtime

Open native files or scans. Every symbol, tag and line is read, linked back to where it sits on the sheet, and joined into a graph of the plant. Anything uncertain goes to an engineer, not into your line list.

  • Line, valve and instrument lists, ready on day one
  • Every tag traced back to its place on the sheet
  • Dangling lines and missing tags flagged for review
See it read a P&ID →
02 · Model

Equipment models from vendor GAs

Vendor GAs arrive as drawings, not models, and someone has to model every item of equipment by hand. Cadmium reads the GA and builds the 3D equipment, with nozzles where the vendor put them, ready to place in your plant model.

  • Vessels, exchangers, pumps and more
  • Nozzles with size, rating and orientation
  • Checked against the vendor GA
See equipment modelling →
03 · Generate

From the model to a finished sheet

Point Cadmium at the 3D model. You get a finished isometric on your template, with every dimension, elevation and balloon in place, in native CAD.

  • Hours of clean-up per sheet become minutes of review
  • Your title block and your drafting standards
  • Native DWG and DXF, editable by your team
Watch the pipeline run →
04 · Annotate

Your GAs, annotated and ready to issue

GAs extracted from your design tool arrive with notes piled on top of each other. Cadmium annotates the drawing in the DGN itself: labels placed clear of piping and dimensions, chained dimensions at the matchlines, and margin entries in your drafter’s style.

  • A clean sheet in about ten seconds
  • Still your native DGN, plus a 1:1 PDF
  • Every label clear of piping and of other labels
See GAD annotation →
05 · Take off

MTOs that keep up with the model

Quantities come straight from the model, line by line. When the model changes, you see exactly which items moved, before a purchase order goes out on stale numbers.

  • Differences by item and by line, per revision
  • Late changes visible the day they happen
  • Fewer surplus and short-shipped items at site
See procurement →
06 · Check

Engineers review changes, not whole sheets

Each revision is compared with the last and the changes are clouded for you. Sheets are checked against the model and P&ID, then a qualified engineer signs them off.

  • Automatic clouding at every revision
  • Model, P&ID and BOM checked against each other
  • A full record of who approved what, and when
See detailed engineering →
07 · Build

The current drawing, at the workface

Every sheet and its 3D model open on any device, with no CAD licence. Superseded revisions are flagged, so nobody builds from an old print.

  • Isometric and 3D model on any phone or tablet
  • Superseded revisions clearly flagged
  • Test-pack boundaries worked out from the P&IDs
See construction →

At the workface

Every sheet ends up in someone’s hands.

Crews cut, fit and weld from what engineering issues. When a drawing is wrong or late, this is where it costs you.

Two workers in hard hats fabricating pipe insulation on a table at a process plant, pipework and steel behind them.
A welder in a mask running a TIG weld on a small-bore pipe spool.
Large-diameter coated pipeline strung along an open trench through woodland.
A welder in a mask working on a large flanged nozzle, with sparks at the joint.

The cost of redrawing

What isometrics cost you today.

Every revision sends the same sheets back to the same drafters. Put in your own numbers.

TodayWith Cadmium

Assumes 10 minutes per sheet with Cadmium, including review, and half the original effort for each manual revision.

Fits your workflow

Keep the tools you already use.

Nothing changes about how your designers model. Cadmium reads what they produce and writes native files.
